Associate Professor Peter Mount is an honorary IBAS fellow and Deputy Director of the Department of Nephrology at Austin Health. He has a longstanding involvement with the IBAS Kidney Laboratory. His laboratory research focuses on obesity related chronic kidney disease and mechanisms of regulation of renal fibrosis.
Clinical research interests include clinical trials and studies of haemodialysis vascular access. He is head of the ambulatory haemodialysis program at Austin Health and also has a strong clinical interest in kidney transplantation. He supervises the training of advanced trainees in nephrology and has co-supervised PhD students.
A/Prof Mount is also the Clinical Lead for the Victorian Renal Clinical Network, Safer Care Victoria.
