Like many of you, we at IBAS are usually too caught up in activities the present and thoughts of the future to have time to focus on the past. However, in a reflective moment, we have just expanded and updated the summary of our history.

IBAS originated from the clinical work in the field of respiratory medicine at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital. If you are interested in the history of that hospital, we recommend two books by Gwynedd Hunter-Payne: Proper Care: Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital 1940s-1990s and On the Duckboards: Experiences on the Other Side of the War.
