Wednesday 20th November is World COPD Day. The theme is early detection and treatment.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is an umbrella terms that covers conditions, including chronic asthma, chronic bronchitis and empysema, that cause shortness of breath.
If you are in the Heidelberg area of Melbourne, you are invited to visit the Respiratory clinic by the Health and Rehabilitation Centre at the Repatriation Campus of the Austin Hospital (9-10.30am). Here you can speak to experienced respiratory staff, obtain information on QUIT and have spirometry to help asses your lung health.
If you are elsewhere, check out the Lung Foundation website for more information and World COPD day events near you.
