Specifically for General Practitioners (GPs), IBAS is offering a two-evening course called 'Sleep - The Basics'. The training is RACGP QI&CPD approved, offering 40 Category 1 points.
The two sessions are both Tuesdays - 19th + 26th June, from 7.00 - 10.00pm. A light supper will be served from 6.30pm. The location is the Austin Hospital - in the Education Precinct, which is located on Level 4 of the Austin Tower. Parking (paid) is available onsite, entry from Studley Road (see the map of Austin Hospital - the entrance to the parking is Reference L5).
The course aims to cover aspects of sleep health diagnosis and management, including sleep apnoea, insomnia, jet lag, shiftwork and restless legs syndrome. Clinical case studies will be used as well as practical sleep investigation and treatment workshops.
Presenters include Dr Christopher Worsnop, Associate Professor Shantha Rajaratnam, Dr Fergal O'Donoghue and Professor Stuart Armstrong.
